Canyoncafe is an independent South African company with a strong partnership with Canyon Bicycles in Germany.
While Canyon bikes can be ordered directly by customers in most countries, South Africa is an exception due to specific import regulations and licensing requirements that individuals cannot fulfill.
As a result, Canyoncafe has been granted exclusive rights as a Powerseller to import and distribute Canyon Bicycles within South Africa –making us your official and trusted source for all Canyon-related things.
How does it work?
Since 2022, getting your Canyon Bike in South Africa has never been easier.
We’ve streamlined the entire process to make it simple and stress-free. Just let us know the model, size, and color you’re after – and we’ll take care of the rest.
If your chosen bike is in stock in the Canyon global warehouse in Germany, it will be shipped as soon as the payment process is completed. We handle all the import logistics for you, and within 10 to 14 business days, your Canyon will arrive – either delivered to your doorstep, ready for pick-up at our shop, or with our trusted service partner in Johannesburg.
If your preferred model or size isn’t available, we will place the order for you as soon as possible. In that case, payment will only be requested 1–2 weeks before it’s ready to ship.
The history of Canyon in South Africa
It all started with a passion for the ride!
During racing for three years with the Canyon Marathon Team, Erik developed a deep love for Canyon bikes – and a strong connection to the brand. It wasn’t long before the idea was born: bring these incredible bikes to South Africa, a country full of passionate cyclists.
By the end of 2018, Canyon bikes officially became available in South Africa. At first, all orders were handled directly through Canyon Bicycles in Germany, with customers navigating the complex import process on their own. It quickly became clear that this wasn’t sustainable.
To make things easier for local riders, Erik founded Canyoncafe – a South African company dedicated to handling the entire process, from import to delivery. Today, we’re proud to be the official and exclusive Powerseller of Canyon Bicycles in South Africa.
