CANYON//SRAM RACING ARE BACK WITH THEIR MOST EYE-CATCHING KIT TO DATE

Fans can show their support by sporting the same collection

One of the boldest and brightest teams in the peloton is back for 2024 with the new ‘Harmonic Riff’ kit design on their backs. 2024’s CANYON//SRAM Racing kit, designed and engineered by Canyon, draws inspiration from the experience of sounds and rhythms of a race day.

The new collection takes the original CANYON//SRAM colour palette of purple and blue and adds nebulous flow of SRAM’s red to flow artfully into a green sound wave. This eye-catching mixture of colours dynamically weave into one another, drawing attention and capturing the vitality of the team.

The clothing collection features logos from headline partner SRAM, who provide the team’s top-of-the-range RED eTap AXS drivetrains and brakesets, and Zwift, whose annual Zwift Academy competition gives riders the chance to win a contract with Canyon//SRAM.

A stand-out kit for stand-out performances

You can expect to see riders including Gravel World Champion Kasia Niewiadoma (PL), Individual Time Trial Champion Chloe Dygert (US), U23 European Time Trial Champion Zoe Bäckstedt (UK), and U23 Time Trial World Champion Antonia Niedermaier (DE) decked out in the new design as they attempt to emulate an incredible 2023 season. Additionally, Ricarda Bauernfeind (DE), Neve Bradbury (AU), Elise Chabbey (CH), Tiffany Cromwell (AU), Justyna Czapla (DE), Alex Morrice (UK), Soraya Paladin (IT), Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka (PL), Alice Towers (UK), and Maike van der Duin (NL) will all sport the Harmonic Riff collection in their upcoming road, cyclocross, and gravel races around the world.

CANYON//SRAM Generation, a team of 9 talented up-and-coming riders, will also be attired in this same vibrant kit. Keep your eyes peeled for their matching official CANYON//SRAM Racing team bikes too: to start the new year, complementary designs have been applied to the team's Canyon Aeroad and Ultimate race bikes too.

Engineered with energy

The design language of the Harmonic Riff collection embodies the sounds and rhythms of a race day. From the whir of freewheels to the roar of the crowd, brilliant riffs of harmonic colour wrap around the rider with pure sound energy in motion, mirroring the impact the team have in the peloton.

“In a song, a constant tension of riffs and progressions draw and hold our attention,” says designer McKenzie Sampson. “Ebbs and flows provide a framework for a song and make room for launch points, whether that’s a breakdown, a lead, or a solo. But at the end of the day, everything is built around that consistent harmonic flow.”

Knowing the intention of the kit, it then becomes clear just how creative and out-of-the-box these designers think. The extreme physical demands on the athlete are mirrored in what they hear around them. Just like a song, the peloton is alive with breaks and solos. The race mirrors the journey one goes through when listening to music: the opening riff, the short interludes, a major climb. Then the climax of a win. “Bringing that same level of vigour to the design was a big part of our inspiration for this year’s kit,” adds McKenzie.

He worked closely with Ultan Coyle, Global Creative Director and designer of the previous CANYON//SRAM Racing jerseys. “Last year, the kit was built around the idea of high-pressure systems as seen in the atmosphere. So, you have these unique infographic-esque storm systems showcased on the kit.” It’s clear to see that this year, both designers were keen to continue with the theme of energy.

Kasia Niewiadoma of CANYON//SRAM Racing says, “the design fits perfectly into how we present ourselves and how we are perceived: vibrant, sharp, and feisty. As a team that consists of so many nationalities, I love wearing a kit that stands out with its unique design; just like us, from the youngest to the oldest team member, we are all so different yet similar.”

Where to find it

Anyone wanting to make some noise for the team can wear the collection themselves. In sporting this design, they’ll be supporting both CANYON//SRAM Racing and CANYON//SRAM Generation.
