The Canyon PACE bar - the Aeroad's modular cockpit

The future of racing, in your hands.
An all-new, adjustable and adaptable cockpit
We’ve totally revamped the cockpit for this new generation Aeroad. Comfort and speed up front has never been more simple – reach out and grab it.
PACE is adjustable
Our new Performance Adaptive Cockpit Ecosystem (PACE) system is adjustable: You can adjust the width of your cockpit by 50 mm across three distinct positions. You can also adjust the height by 20 mm height (up from 15 mm) across 5 mm increments. That way you will set your bike up perfectly for your needs and gain the required aerodynamics to conquer the South African roads.
PACE is modular
Our new PACE is modular: the T-bar works with interchangeable drops, which can be swapped quick and easy in minutes – without needing to disconnect the brake lines and having to re-bleed your brakes.
The new PACE also comes with our Gear Groove: A rock-solid interface for mounting a range of accessories quickly, from computer mounts to aero exten- sions, with more gear options to come.
The PACE BAR has two distinct drop options:
Classic Drops – Balanced geometry
Slightly narrower than on the last Aeroad, our Classic Drops deliver perfect speed and balance. The Classic Drops come as standard on all new Aeroad models. Their form is more conventional with minimal flare and 130 mm drop. Improved spacer aerodynamics offer 20 mm height adjustment and the width can be altered by 25 mm in or out.
Aero Drops – Flared out and fast
To meet modern demands for running shifters inboard to minimise the rider’s frontal surface, we’ve created the more aggressive Aero Drops as an aftermarket option for racers looking to perform at even higher speeds. The Aero Drops bring you into a more aggressive position that can save you up to 14 watts* extra while riding. Designed for racing off the front, the flared out drops also enable great handling.

The Aero Drops differ from the Classic Drops with 20 mm narrower centre-to-centre width at the shifters expanding to a wider position at the drops for extra leverage when sprinting thanks to a progressive 19° of flare. The drop is reduced by 25 mm (so it measures 105 mm) to make it easier to get lower, and the decreased width is compensated for by 10 mm additional reach to the shifters.
* In wind tunnel and track testing with multiple riders maintaining an aggressive leadout position on the hoods we saw up to 14 watts difference in overall power output required between the already fast Classic Drops and the new Aero drops.
Aero Extensions – Get into the gear groove
Inspired by our Speedmax platform and developed with our pro riders, these aero and ergo extensions allow for an aggressive but comfortable position. Individually adjustable, they integrate perfectly with the new Aeroad cockpit, making them a great option for riders competing in triathlon, or ultra-racing.
Hands on the hoods
Our new Effective Stack and Reach tool for position on the bike takes the principal measurement point at the hoods, because this is where most riders place their hands when on the bike.
On the Aeroad, the Aero Drops increase the Effective Reach by 10 mm, allowing the rider to adopt a more aggressive and aerodynamic position.
