New Canyon Lux World Cup coming soon

During the Cape Epic 2026 a new and unreleased Canyon Lux World Cup made its debut on South African soil.

After eight stages of epic racing action, Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon MTB Racing) and Sam Gaze (Alpecin-Premier Tech) secured three landmark stage victories on a prototype of the Canyon Lux World Cup. In the Mixed Pairs category, Canyon XC Racing’s Jenny Rissveds – also on the new prototype – and her husband Simon Andreassen dominated the field and won all eight stages.

The Innovation: The Anti-Squat Flip-Chip

The 2026 Cape Epic served as the ultimate "live lab" for Canyon’s latest innovation, marking a strong statement for the new race bike. While details remain scarce, the success of Schwarzbauer, Gaze and Rissveds suggests the bike has gained in efficiency, comfort and control. Partly thanks to the new anti-squat flip-chip, the bike can be ridden faster under the most demanding yet varied race conditions.

Speaking to Pinkbike earlier this year, Canyon explained, that as XC racing evolves, riders are chasing narrower margins. One key area is the ability to finetune their suspension setup based on the course, drivetrain or personal preference. Developed with input from Sam Gaze and Luca Schwarzbauer the newflip-chip system specifically adjusts anti-squad – without affecting geometry or suspension feel.

Ideal for riders chasing that final percent, where every pedal stroke matters.
